Jenny Wells B.A. M.A.

Head of English & Director

Jenny Wells is a visual educator and teaches Art History and English Literature at a college and online, as well as being an A level examiner in History of Art. Whatever the class, she aims to inspire a greater visual lexicon for her students so they are confident in real art settings such as art galleries, theatres, whether it’s talking about art or literature, or writing formal responses, the aim is to bring confidence and joy to their learning.

During the lockdown Oxford Teaching Trust presents:

Van Gogh.

I put my heart and soul into my work, and I have lost my mind in the process.

Through a study of a set of Van Gogh’s paintings (including his early work, and favourites such as ‘Sunflowers’, ‘Starry Night’) we will look at his life, his love of nature, his use colour, technique and the influences on his unique style. This course will develop your knowledge of Van Gogh and your ability to read paintings in general.

What I teach:

  • Art History
  • English Literature
