A little bit about myself
Being a French national, I am passionate about helping other people learn this beautiful language and discover the culture of France.
I believe that learning a foreign language is an incredibly important life skill that will give you the ability to truly communicate and connect with others. It will help you understand what someone is saying, recall the proper vocab and grammar, put that vocab and grammar into the proper context, and reply, all on the spot and in a timely manner.
Being able to interact with the locals when travelling to a French speaking country is what it is all about, isn’t it?
Speaking a foreign language can also lead the way to great experiences in your travel, work and education. If you are thinking of French lessons but are still unsure, here are a few great reasons to do it:
1. Enhance Your Travel Experiences
Even a basic knowledge can make travelling easier and more enjoyable. It allows you to communicate with people at hotels, restaurants, and transport systems. Furthermore, with 75.9 million French speakers around the world, the language will provide you with the opportunity to talk with locals from countries like France, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, Monaco, and many African nations. Understanding and speaking the language also means fashion, culinary arts, and architecture all become more accessible.
2. Increase Your Education and career opportunities
It is no secret that learning a foreign language can improve your employment prospects. Getting a GCSE or A level in French or gaining a graduate or postgraduate degree will definitely be a plus on your CV and will allow you to work in international business or politics.
French is extremely useful. Organisations like NATO, the United Nations, and even the International Olympics Committee all use French as an official language.
3. Study or work in a French speaking country.
Being able to communicate will also give you the chance to study or work abroad. It will enable you to experience a different way of life and improve your French.
However, learning French on your own will only get you so far. If you are ready to learn more, you will need professional help. Your best option is to take French lessons, especially with a native speaker. It will give you the opportunity to improve the four skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. For most courses, the main focus will be on speaking as it is obviously the key element but also reading. You want to be able to understand signs, menus, tourist information.
So what are you waiting for? Come and join one of our French lessons and start learning. Bonne chance!
